A 23-metre (75 ft) Komodo phinisi for ten, with four air-conditioned cabins, two shared bathrooms and a crew of six. Private charter only.
Held for private groups through Komodo National Park from Labuan Bajo.
Samara II is a 23-metre (75 ft) ironwood and teak phinisi, launched in 2017. Beam 4.5 m. She is the smaller of the two Samara boats, built for Komodo from Labuan Bajo, not for Raja Ampat crossings. Ten guests is the maximum if both Bali and Flores cabins take a third berth. Eight is the more generous number.
Four cabins sit on the lower deck. Bali and Flores each hold a double and a bunk. Sulawesi and Rote are doubles. Two bathrooms are shared, with hot water. That is the layout. She is not sold as ensuite. Crew of six. Solar charges the batteries by day. The generator is shut down at night.
Sun deck, shaded foredeck, indoor lounge and dining, a bar on the aft teak. Paddleboards and snorkel kit. Starlink. One beach dinner on a stay of three nights or more. Private charter only, from $4,500/night. Cabins are not sold one at a time. Open trips run on Samara I, not on this hull.
Vhana is a full-service travel agency and part of Virtuoso Consortia, and we are happy to customize your holiday. Send us your dates or approximate dates and the number of people. We then work directly with the boats for the best price guarantee. You are not looking at a public calendar.
If your preferred nights are already taken, we will provide alternative options for your review.
We are happy to quote pre- and post-cruise stays, airfare, and travel or dive insurance around the same voyage.
No. Samara II is private charter only. Open trips and single cabins run on Samara I. If a cabin on a published Komodo sailing is what you want, we will send those boats instead.
Ten across four cabins if Bali and Flores take a third berth. Eight is the more generous number if those two stay as doubles.
No. Four cabins share two bathrooms. If every cabin must have its own bathroom, look at Jinggo Janggo, Splendour or Nataraja instead.
No. She is a snorkel boat: paddleboards, snorkel kit, a local guide. If the group wants tanks and a compressor, look at Teman.
Families and friends who want the whole ship in Komodo without a $12,000 night, and who can live with shared bathrooms. She is a poor match for divers, for Raja Ampat, or for anyone who needs ensuite cabins. Those groups are not how we sell her.
Tell us dates, headcount and how you want the days to feel. If she is the wrong length, mood or price, we send the next honest match.
