Indonesia
A 47-metre (154 ft) private phinisi for unhurried Indonesia weeks, with wide teak, a full-beam master, and a crew of sixteen who treat the ship as a house, not a schedule.
Held for private groups through Komodo, Raja Ampat and the Bandas.
Maj Oceanic came out of a Sulawesi yard in 2019 as a 47-metre (154 ft) phinisi meant to disappear into a week, not sprint between harbours. The hull is traditional Konjo timber; the living is not. Interiors stay cool, the Admiral suite sits alone on the bridge deck, and the outside decks are split so one group can read in shade while another takes the sun.
Fourteen guests sleep in six ensuite cabins. Zheng He, the 120-square-metre (1,292 sq ft) Admiral suite, is the only cabin on the bridge, with its own balcony. Columbus sits on the main deck; four deluxe staterooms take the rest of the party. Remaining suites are grouped so a family can take one wing and friends another. When everyone is aboard, an enclosed lounge and a separate media room keep the ship from feeling like a single room. Sixteen crew run helm, galley, dive deck and a small treatment room used for late-afternoon massage.
Water toys live on the transom: kayaks, boards, snorkel kit, and dive gear if you want it. Tenders leave at first light for Padar or a quiet beach. Maj Oceanic is for guests who want a private house on the water: long breakfasts, a spa hour, dinner after the islands go dark, rather than a packed activity card.
Vhana is a full-service travel agency and part of Virtuoso Consortia, and we are happy to customize your holiday. Send us your dates or approximate dates and the number of people. We then work directly with the boats for the best price guarantee. You are not looking at a public calendar.
If your preferred nights are already taken, we will provide alternative options for your review.
We are happy to quote pre- and post-cruise stays, airfare, and travel or dive insurance around the same voyage.
Yes. She was built for seven- to fourteen-night loops, not day trips. Tankage, cabin spread and a crew of sixteen are sized so fourteen guests can stay aboard through a full Komodo circuit, a Sumbawa add-on, or a Raja Ampat season without living on top of one another.
Slow by design. Breakfast holds until you appear. Midday is shade and a swim off the stern. The spa room is used before sunset, not as a checkbox. If you want a packed dive roster, we can set that. It is not the default rhythm.
Fourteen across six ensuite cabins, including the bridge-deck Admiral suite. Twelve is the more generous number if you want a cabin left as a dressing room, nanny space or quiet office.
She is. A dedicated treatment room sits amidships, and the foredeck stays clear of tenders in the morning so stretching or a quiet coffee is not a negotiation with the dive schedule.
Multi-generational families who want a master plus connecting suites, or two or three couples who want 47 metres (154 ft) of phinisi without stepping up to a steel explorer. She is a poor match for a loud celebration or a cabin-charter crowd. Those groups are not how we sell her.
Tell us dates, headcount and how you want the days to feel. If she is the wrong length, mood or price, we send the next honest match.
