About Lamima

Lamima left a Sulawesi yard in 2014 as a 65.2-metre (214 ft) ketch-rigged phinisi, drawn by Marcelo Penna and built by Haji Baso and Haji Saka. A 2024 refit kept the ironwood hull and teak decks, and reset the living so fourteen guests can stay aboard for a long loop without the ship feeling like one room. She is RINA classed, carries North Sails, and moves at a working eight knots, which is the pace this coast wants.

Fourteen guests sleep in seven ensuite cabins. Seahorse, the 45-square-metre (484 sq ft) master, sits alone on the main deck with a dressing room, a king bed, and a walk-in shower. Six more cabins take the lower deck: four kings and two twins, so a family can take one wing and friends another. The saloon holds a dining table for fourteen, a lounge, and a bar. Outside, the decks split so one group can read in shade while another takes the sun or a morning stretch. Twenty crew run helm, galley, dive deck and an aft spa used for late-afternoon massage.

Water toys live on the transom: a 10.2-metre tender plus two smaller boats, jet skis, e-foils, kayaks, boards, and dive kit for the whole party. Two PADI instructors and a nitrox compressor sit onboard. Tenders leave at first light for Padar, a quiet beach, or a first tank. Lamima is for guests who want a private house on the water: long breakfasts, a spa hour, dinner after the islands go dark, rather than a packed activity card.

Questions

Lamima FAQ

Can Lamima handle a long private charter in Indonesia?

Yes. She was built for seven- to fourteen-night loops, not day trips. Tankage, cabin spread and a crew of twenty are sized so fourteen guests can stay aboard through a full Komodo circuit, a Sumbawa add-on, or a Raja Ampat season without living on top of one another.

What kind of week does the ship actually run?

Slow by design. Breakfast holds until you appear. Midday is shade and a swim off the stern. The aft spa is used before sunset, not as a checkbox. If you want a packed dive roster, two instructors and nitrox are already onboard. That is an option, not the default rhythm.

How many guests can sleep on Lamima?

Fourteen across seven ensuite cabins, including the main-deck Seahorse master. Twelve is the more generous number if you want a cabin left as a dressing room, nanny space or quiet office. Crab and Lobster are the two twin cabins.

Is she a good fit for diving and wellness on the same week?

She is. A PADI centre with two instructors sits on one side of the day. The aft spa, ice bath and a clear stretch of deck for morning yoga sit on the other. You do not have to choose one mood for the whole charter.

Who is Lamima for?

Multi-generational families who want a master plus six more ensuite cabins, or two or three couples who want 65 metres (214 ft) of phinisi without stepping up to a steel explorer. She is a poor match for a loud celebration or a cabin-charter crowd. Those groups are not how we sell her.
