A 64-foot klotok rebuilt from a fishing boat by Bugis craftsmen, named for the river where she was launched. Solar panels run the air-conditioning. Three ensuite cabins carry up to six guests into Tanjung Puting.
Kumai is a traditional klotok with a high prow, 64 ft long and just over 12 ft wide. Bugis boat builders in a local yard remodelled the former fishing boat. Three air-conditioned ensuite cabins sit below. The roofed, open-sided upper deck holds rattan sofas, a dining table and optional hammock sleeping. Solar panels power the boat in silence. The crew is a boatman, cook, assistant cook and an English-speaking guide.

Life onboard
From Kumai harbour the river runs into Tanjung Puting: Camp Leakey, Pondok Tanggui, Tanjung Harapan and stilted Dayak villages. Proboscis monkeys, hornbills and blackwater lakes sit along the banks. Shared sailings and private charters use the same 3, 4 and 5-day Camp Leakey circuits as sister klotoks on this river.
