El Aleph was built as an owner’s yacht, not a hotel that happens to float. Konjo
boatbuilders in Tana Beru laid the hull. Bali cabinetmakers spent more than 200,000
hours on the teak and ironwood. She launched around 2008 as a 40-metre (131 ft)
gaff-rigged phinisi. Interiors were lightened in a 2025 refit. Beam 8 m, draft 2.7 m.
Ten guests sleep in five ensuite cabins. The master sits on the bridge deck: about
32 m², a dressing room, and a private terrace of about 10 m². Four guest doubles of
18 m² sit below, with portholes. A 10 m² nanny cabin is there if a child, a guide or
an extra berth is needed. It is not how we count the ten. Crew of thirteen, including
a dive master.
She is one of the more serious dive setups in this size: nitrox, Poseidon rebreathers,
helium mixing, kayaks, boards and two tenders. Indoor dining and a salon, a covered
main-deck lounge, a sun deck. Komodo, Raja Ampat, Alor and the Spice Islands. Private
charter only. Individual cabins are not sold.

No. El Aleph is private charter only. The owner still uses her for much of the
year. When she is open, the week is yours. If you need a berth on a shared
sailing, we send a dual boat instead.
How many guests can sleep on El Aleph?
Ten across five ensuite cabins. A smaller nanny cabin can take a child, a nanny
or a guide. Eight is the more generous number if you want a cabin left empty.
Is she set up for serious diving?
Yes. Nitrox, Poseidon rebreathers and helium mixing are onboard, which is rare
at this length. Certified guests dive. If nobody in the group dives, the decks
still work. We do not pretend she is only a liveaboard.
Are the four guest cabins above deck?
No. Only the master sits on the bridge. The four doubles are below, with
portholes. If every cabin must sit above the waterline, look at Rascal or Rebel
instead.
Who is El Aleph for?
Divers who want an owner-built phinisi, and families who want a proper master
terrace without a 50-metre hull. She is a poor match for a cabin-charter crowd
or a loud celebration. Those groups are not how we sell her.
