About Alila Purnama

Alila Purnama came out of a Sulawesi yard at Christmas 2012 as a 46-metre (151 ft) Bugis phinisi meant to carry ten guests the way a small hotel carries a house party: five suites, teak and rattan made for the ship, and decks split so one group can take the sun while another stays in shade. Purnama means full moon. The living is slower than the name.

Ten guests sleep in five air-conditioned ensuite suites. Sriwijaya, the master, sits above deck with wraparound windows, a private balcony and its own sundeck. Cirebon, Madura, Jawa and Bali take the lower deck. Two of those rooms convert to twins if you ask. When everyone is aboard, the Majapahit lounge and the indoor dining room keep the ship from feeling like a single table. Fourteen crew run helm, galley, dive deck and a spa hour on board or on a nearby beach.

Water toys live on the transom: kayaks, boards, snorkel kit, and a PADI centre with nitrox if you want it. Two tenders leave at first light. Alila Purnama is for guests who want a private house on the water, or a cabin on a published week if ten berths are more than you need.

Questions

Alila Purnama FAQ

Can Alila Purnama handle a long private charter in Indonesia?

Yes. She was built for week-long loops, not day trips. Tankage, five suites and a crew of fourteen are sized so ten guests can stay aboard through a Komodo circuit, a Raja Ampat season, or an Ambon to Sorong crossing without living on top of one another.

What kind of week does the ship actually run?

Slow by design. Breakfast holds until you appear. Midday is shade and a swim off the stern. The spa hour is used before sunset, not as a checkbox. If you want a packed dive roster, we can set that. It is not the default rhythm.

How many guests can sleep on Alila Purnama?

Ten across five ensuite suites, including the upper-deck Sriwijaya master. Eight is the more generous number if you want a cabin left as a dressing room or quiet office.

Can we book a cabin instead of the whole yacht?

Yes. Cabin charters run on published dates. A standard cabin starts from $3,100 per night. The Sriwijaya master starts from $4,000 per night. Send dates and we will tell you which sailings still have a suite.

Who is Alila Purnama for?

Families and two or three couples who want a hotel-level phinisi for ten, or a pair who want a cabin on a published week. She is a poor match for a loud celebration or a group that needs more than five rooms. Those groups are not how we sell her.
