A 50-metre (164 ft) private phinisi launched in 2022, with an owner's suite on the bridge, a second master on the main deck, and a crew of eighteen for Komodo, Raja Ampat and the Spice Islands.
Held for private groups through Komodo, Raja Ampat, Alor and the Spice Islands.
Vela came out of a South Sulawesi Konjo yard in 2022 as a 50-metre (164 ft) ironwood and teak phinisi. Tresno Seery drew the hull. Natacha Tanguy did the interiors. She is a private ship, not a cabin boat: twelve guests, six ensuite cabins, eighteen crew, and enough deck that a week does not feel like a corridor.
The owner's suite sits alone on the bridge deck, 40 square metres (431 sq ft), with a private terrace and a 180-degree view. A second master, 35 square metres (377 sq ft), takes the main deck. Four staterooms live below, 18 to 23 square metres (194 to 248 sq ft), kings or twins. Ten is the week that still feels like a house. Twelve is the published maximum.
She works Komodo from Labuan Bajo in the dry months (four-night minimum), Raja Ampat when the wind turns, and Alor or Spice Island weeks when the nights allow. A PADI dive locker with nitrox, two Zodiacs, kayaks, boards, Seabobs and WaveRunners live on the working deck. Spa hours are included, up to four a day. Starlink is aboard. Private charter is the only booking.
Vhana is a full-service travel agency and part of Virtuoso Consortia, and we are happy to customize your holiday. Send us your dates or approximate dates and the number of people. We then work directly with the boats for the best price guarantee. You are not looking at a public calendar.
If your preferred nights are already taken, we will provide alternative options for your review.
We are happy to quote pre- and post-cruise stays, airfare, and travel or dive insurance around the same voyage.
A 50-metre (164 ft) ironwood and teak phinisi, launched in 2022 from a Konjo yard in South Sulawesi. Six ensuite cabins, twelve guests, eighteen crew. Private charter only. She is a Komodo boat in the dry months, a Raja Ampat boat when the wind turns, with Alor and Spice Island weeks when the nights allow.
One owner's suite on the bridge with a private terrace (40 m²), one master on the main deck (35 m²), and four staterooms below (18 to 23 m²). Beds set as kings or twins in the lower cabins. Ten is the more generous number if you want a cabin left as a dressing room or nanny space. Two children can sometimes be added; we confirm that with the yacht.
Certified diving, nitrox and a full set of kit are included. PADI courses and dive insurance sit outside. Snorkel gear, kayaks, boards, Seabobs and WaveRunners (outside park boundaries) come with the charter.
Two or three families who want a proper owner's suite plus a second master above deck, or a dive-minded group that still wants spa hours and a salon. She is a poor match for a two-cabin boutique week, or for a cabin-charter crowd. Those groups are not how we sell her.
Tell us dates, headcount and how you want the days to feel. If she is the wrong length, mood or price, we send the next honest match.
