About Silolona

Silolona came out of a Konjo yard in South Sulawesi in 2004 as a 50-metre (164 ft) ironwood phinisi built to yacht survey, not cargo rules. Kasten Marine drew the hull. She was worked over again in 2020. Ten guests, five ensuite cabins, seventeen crew. Private charter only.

The three larger suites sit below: Asmat and Java at 26.4 square metres (284 sq ft) with kings, Bali at 22.4 square metres (241 sq ft) with a king. Sumba and Borneo are the smaller queens, 11.2 square metres (121 sq ft) each. Each cabin takes its name and textiles from an Indonesian island. Eight is the week that still feels like a house. Ten is the published maximum.

She works Komodo from Labuan Bajo in the dry months, Raja Ampat when the wind turns, and Spice or Banda crossings when the nights allow. A licensed PADI centre, three RIBs, kayaks and a wakeboard live on the working deck. The teak lounge is air-conditioned. Dining happens inside or on the aft deck. Private charter is the only booking.

Questions

Silolona FAQ

What kind of ship is Silolona?

A 50-metre (164 ft) ironwood phinisi, launched in 2004 from a Konjo yard and refitted in 2020. Five ensuite cabins, ten guests, seventeen crew. Private charter only. She is a Komodo boat in the dry months and a Raja Ampat boat when the wind turns, with Spice Island weeks when the nights allow.

How are the cabins split?

Three kings below: Asmat and Java at 26.4 m², Bali at 22.4 m². Two queens, Sumba and Borneo, at 11.2 m². Eight is the more generous number if you want a cabin left as a dressing room or nanny space.

Is diving included?

Certified diving and Scuba Pro kit are included. She is a licensed PADI centre. Courses and dive insurance sit outside. Snorkel gear, kayaks, paddleboards and a wakeboard come with the charter.

Who is Silolona for?

Two or three couples who want named suites and a crew that has been running Indonesia weeks since 2004, or a family that will take the two smaller queens for children. She is a poor match for a cabin-charter crowd. Those groups are not how we sell her.
