Mahodaya means great fortune in Sanskrit. Adrian Zecha, founder of Aman, commissioned
her, and the late Jaya Ibrahim designed the interiors. She left the yard in 2009 as a
traditional phinisi, built by boatmakers in eastern Indonesia, and came back from a
full refurbishment in 2026. Private charter only. Six guests, three ensuite cabins,
and a crew of 13.
The Owner's Suite has a double bed and panoramic windows on the water. Guest Suite
One can be set as twins or a double. Guest Suite Two is a twin cabin. Each has its
own bathroom, its own air conditioning, and windows on the sea. A covered upper deck
is used for dining and sitting out. The sundeck takes loungers, yoga and the evening.
Raja Ampat is her usual season from October to April. Komodo runs from about April
to December. Sumbawa and other Indonesian routes are arranged when the season allows.
The charter includes full-board meals from a private chef, soft drinks, park fees,
airport transfers, Wi-Fi, standard fuel, and massage for up to four hours a day.
Kayaks, paddleboards, snorkelling and guided diving for certified guests are onboard.
Dive courses, gratuities, flights, visas and insurance sit outside the rate.

What kind of ship is Mahodaya?

in 2009 and was refurbished in 2026. She is chartered whole, never by the cabin,
through Komodo, Raja Ampat and Sumbawa.
How are the cabins split?
The Owner's Suite is a double with panoramic windows. Guest Suite One can be
twins or a double. Guest Suite Two is twins. All three are ensuite, with their
own air conditioning and windows on the water.
Is diving included?
Certified guests can dive with the boat, and snorkel gear is onboard. Training
and certification courses are extra. Kayaks and paddleboards come with the
charter. Motorised watersports are not used inside national parks.
How is the rate structured?
Rates are on request and change with the season and the route. The charter
includes the cabins, full-board meals, soft drinks, crew, park fees, watersports
equipment, the planned excursions, massage for up to four hours a day, airport
transfers, Wi-Fi and standard fuel. Gratuities, dive courses, insurance, flights,
hotels before or after, visas and extra fuel sit outside. A 30 percent deposit
holds the dates. The rest is due 60 days before you sail.
